GIST:  The Essence of Raising Life-Ready Kids

GIST will give new and valuable insight into the process of how kids mature through their experiences of life, with what the author calls a "checklist to adulthood."  You will be given new ways of thinking about learning and anti-learning, fun and joy, self-esteem, minimizing shame, understanding self-protective behavior, over-talking to your kids, why kids do stuff that drives you crazy, and the importance of truth-telling.

Parenting Angry Teens
December 14, 2016 (1:30-3:00PM)

Come learn practical steps and tips in dealing with your child's anger.  Everyone has their own style of coping with anger.  They also have different "triggers" that will set off an angry response.  This class will address how to identify your child's triggers and simple steps on how to deal with situations as they arise.

Participate in this interactive class addressing the difficult task of child discipline with humor, keen insight and proven experience.  This program provides easy-to-follow steps for disciplining children ages 2-12 eliminating yelling, arguing or spanking.

Rage, Anger and Agression in Children and Adolescents:  How to Understand and Calm the Angry Mind
January 24, 2017
$15 per person or $25 for two people

This presentation will assist with understanding the spectrum of anger in children and adolescents, how anger impacts the brain and body system, and consider how anger and rage can occur and be supported in family systems.  You will learn tools on how to help children and adolescents reduce anger as their go-to response, and have intervention ideas for professionals, caregivers, and parents when a child is angry.
